Featuring a soundtrack created by Amin Bhatia which includes the classic "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot and narrated by Gordon Pinsent, this beautiful film is currently showing in IMAX theatres. |
Take a voyage of discovery from the headwaters of Lake Superior to the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. Pass ancient Native American pictographs, observe caribou and moose, spot giant prehistoric sturgeon lurking among thousands of shipwrecks and meet people who live along the coastline. As the source of livelihood for one in every three Canadians, learn how the health of this fresh water resource is important to the social and economic vitality of North America. The cameras of director David Lickley gather some amazing vistas and views from the western tip of Lake Superior to the eastern end of Lake Ontario. But aside from offering some great visuals, Mysteries is also a conservation story as Lickley chronicles scientists’ efforts to rebuild the sturgeon population in the rivers and tributaries that feed the lakes. The film's soundtrack includes "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot and beautiful narration by Gordon Pinsent. For more about the show, visit the Science North website. Here's an excerpt from the "Making of Mysteries of the Great Lakes" that shows a glimpse of the scoring process.
