VIRTUAL CD RELEASE PARTY: The Second Life® community has embraced Amin Bhatia's latest release "Virtuality" and celebrated the record release with a party in the virtual world. Second Life 'Residents' attended the special 2nd Annual Festival In Two World's at Music Academy Online in their Second Life simm, on Saturday Aug 23rd for a unique get-together. Pictures are now posted!
THE SECOND LIFE® CONNECTION
When Amin Bhatia wrote and named the music piece "Second Life" - track 10 of his newly released "Virtuality" - he was referring to the rebirth and rebuilding of the life within a decimated computer. By coincidence, Linden Research, Inc was creating a virtual world reminiscent to the world envisioned by Bhatia.
If it is new to you, Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world accessed via the web. Digital by nature, the community is also organic in that it is continually created and developed by the users. Called Residents, "SL" users subscribe to a free account, create a persona (or avatar) and 'live' what can only be described as a second life where they participate in the virtual community. Since opening to the public in 2003, Second Life® has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe. The vast digital continent, with its own economy is filled with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity.
The Second Life® community has embraced Amin Bhatia's latest album and honoured him at a special 2nd Annual Festival In Two World's at Music Academy Online's sim, on Saturday Aug 23rd, 3pm SLT (yes, that the Second Life time zone, known elsewhere as Pacific Time). Teleport to the Site

MUSIC ACADEMY ONLINE
Music Academy Online is a virtual theme park featuring pavilions and exhibits showcasing all eras of music creation and imagination. It was originally dedicated to generating interest in classical music at all levels, including music education, music appreciation, and especially for the promotion of new music and new composers.
Always developing, Music Academy Online's facilities in Second Life® include museum displays, interactive exhibits, classrooms with audio/video capabilities, a lecture and recital hall, screening rooms, open air concert space, holo-decks and an in-world staff. In July, Benton Wunderlich (RL David Schwartz, Ph.D) interviewed Amin Bhatia (as his SL avatar Aminor Borkotron) on SLCN.tv weekly broadcast "Music Academy OnLIVE." EXPERIENCING "VIRTUALITY" VIRTUALLY
Hosted by Music Academy Online, the "Virtuality" CD release party included a virtual visual and auditory reality tour through the "Virtuality" suite. Please come back soon as we will be posting snap shots and images! You can still be a part of the now permanent exhibits at the Music Academy Online Second Life simm.
You can still experience the synth extravaganza "Bolero Electronica" through an interactive gallery where avatars can see and "touch" every synthesizer used in the making of the work. Pictured here is a snap shot of the developing environment before the party. You'll note the use of the Timeline of Technology chart which lays out which synths are used in the piece. With more than 70 synths to experiment with, the Residents' experience is reminiscent of Amin's initial visit to The Cantos Foundation Museum
where he roamed the electronics filled rooms recording various stanzas.
| We're glad that you were able join us online in Second Life® for the CD release party. Please
and let us know how you enjoyed the shindig. |
